Community goal
01 The cultural layer above AI
Make contribution the highest-status thing on Earth.
Groundswells turns real help into visible, portable proof—so communities can coordinate around what works, not what merely performs.
- ✓ Open rules
- ✓ Human verification
- ✓ Exportable proof
02 The cooperating system
AI can generate almost anything.
Cooperation decides what becomes real.
Today’s feeds reward capture of attention. Groundswells redirects that machinery toward shared needs, verified service, and durable community capacity.
Understand
AI turns scattered stories, evidence, and needs into a clear mission people can grasp in one minute.
Shared contextCoordinate
Every person sees the next useful action matched to their time, skills, location, and level of trust.
Shared actionRecognize
Verified contribution becomes portable proof—status with utility, earned by helping the mission succeed.
Shared value03 Status with utility
“Status already runs culture. The question is: what proof of work do we choose to honor?”
Inspired by Eugene Wei’s “Status as a Service”: durable networks pair social capital with real utility.
Read the source essay ↗04 Aura, made accountable
Aura is not a popularity score.
It is a participant-owned record of commitments kept across different kinds of contribution. No secret ranking. No purchasable clout. No single number deciding human worth.
Contribution record across 11 verified missions
05 Open without being easy to capture
Open source is code.
Open power is the whole system.
Public rulebook
Scoring logic, governance changes, and AI prompts that affect recognition are inspectable and versioned.
Plural verification
No single institution, model, or moderator can silently manufacture status. Important claims require independent attestations.
Participant ownership
People can export their contribution receipts and choose what is public. Reputation does not belong to the platform.
No aura market
Aura cannot be bought, sold, transferred, or earned through payment alone. Money can fund action; it cannot purchase virtue.
Right to context
Scores never stand alone. Receipts show what happened, under which rules, with what confidence and whose verification.
Forkable governance
Communities can run their own instance, adapt local rules, and still interoperate through a shared contribution protocol.
06 The first wedge
Start local. Make help undeniable.
The first product should serve missions with a concrete need, a measurable finish line, and evidence that ordinary people can verify.
Keep a neighborhood cooling center open
Fill shifts, deliver supplies, translate outreach, and document the public funding gap.
Stock 30 community fridges for one month
Coordinate donors, drivers, stores, dietary needs, inventory checks, and recurring sponsorship.
Explain where a city promise and budget went
Collect source documents, translate the numbers, map decisions, and create an auditable public timeline.
Open in Activism.org ↗People get help before the network is large.
Neighbors can confirm what actually happened.
Repeated cooperation compounds locally.
Visible service becomes something others want to join.
07 Frugal growth engine
Build movements.
Earn only when value is created.
Independent Groundswell Stewards launch local missions, bring in trusted partners, and earn published completion bounties after outcomes are verified.

08 A buffer of love
The future starts when goodness can be seen, trusted, and repeated.
Meet every need.
Reveal every truth.
Give every person the power to choose.
From surviving to belonging.
From belonging to agency.
From agency into purpose.
From purpose into peace.
One useful act can be a signal.
A million verified acts can become a culture.
