Attention becomes pressure.
- Reward volume, not fit
- Hide payout logic
- Push people past informed consent
- Pay before long-term value is known
- Externalize reputational harm
Pilot The frugal growth engine
Groundswell Stewards find credible local missions, activate the people and partners needed to complete them, and earn only after published milestones are independently verified.
Eastside cooling-center activation
Sales normally moves products.
01 What changes
The useful part of a commission model is aligned risk: the network stays frugal and the Steward succeeds only when the mission creates measurable value. The extractive parts are removed.
02 The exact funnel
Each gate protects the mission from spam, inflated claims, bad-fit recruiting, and status capture.
Start with a local problem that has a clear affected community, evidence, owner, and measurable finish line.
A partner confirms the need, risks, legitimacy, resource plan, and what evidence will prove completion.
Match people to specific tasks. Activation requires informed consent and one completed useful action.
Remove blockers, make handoffs, resolve gaps, report honestly, and keep the mission’s public status current.
Reconcile task receipts, spending, partner attestations, participant feedback, and unresolved contradictions.
The funding source, amount, evidence, reviewer, and appeal window attach to the public outcome receipt.
03 A sane incentive stack
One blunt commission creates gaming. A milestone stack distributes reward across qualification, activation, completion, reporting, and long-term reliability.
Do not pay per petition signature, donation, political persuasion, raw lead, or unverified account. Pay for useful participation and completed outcomes.
04 Non-negotiable guardrails
Stewards never earn from the future earnings or recruitment chains of other Stewards.
Training, access, status, and eligibility cannot depend on purchasing anything.
Every participant sees who funds a bounty and what conditions release it before accepting work.
No deceptive urgency, harassment, dark patterns, or incentives tied to stripping autonomy.
Financial contribution can be acknowledged separately but cannot purchase moral rank.
Disputes, reversals, corrections, and sanctions remain attached to the outcome receipt.
05 Who should apply
You can listen before you pitch.
You can turn ambiguity into a measurable scope.
You care about participant quality, not vanity volume.
You can hold conflict without hiding inconvenient facts.
You want reputation to follow useful work.
Find the need. Gather the people. Complete the work. Prove the outcome.
